Army Model 1885 Cavalry Carbine Belt with correct improved narrow swivel. The Carbine Belt is essentially a singlepoint sling used to shoulder the mounted troopers carbine while on horseback. The Model 1870 and 1885 Carbine Swivel loop is narrower than the more often found Model 1855 Swivel as used during the American Civil War. These belts were used to sling the carbine over the troopers shoulder
